Description

Bring Hella quality to your headlights

Replace dim, yellow halogens with a modern, high-performance LED retrofit from Hella. The Hella LED H7 / H18 Retrofit kit is built around a compact, precision-machined LED module and a high-efficiency aluminium heatsink so you get consistent light output, controlled beam pattern and a long service life.

Why choose this kit?

  • True retrofit optics: LED emitter placement and housing fit are designed to match the original filament location for correct beam pattern in most housings.
  • Easy to install: Plug the bulb into the stock H7/H18 socket and secure — most installs take 10–20 minutes.
  • Reliable cooling: Passive CNC aluminium heatsink keeps LEDs within safe temperatures without noisy fans.
  • Road-friendly light: Bright, white light with a defined cutoff helps you see further while minimising glare for other drivers.

What’s in the box

  • 2 × Hella H7/H18 LED retrofit bulbs
  • 2 × sealing O-rings
  • Quick start installation leaflet

Note: Some vehicles with advanced CANBus systems or bulb monitoring may show a warning or flicker. In those cases an add-on anti-flicker / error cancellor (not included) may be required.

  • Plug & Play H7 / H18 LED retrofit pair — installs into standard H7/H18 housings.

  • Precise beam control engineered for sharp cutoff and even hotspot — reduces glare to oncoming traffic.

  • High-output LED chips for crisp white light with excellent road illumination.

  • CNC machined aluminium body and integrated heatsink for efficient thermal management.

  • Compact design fits most reflector and projector housings.

  • Low power draw, long life LEDs — durable and vibration resistant.

  • Quick install — no cutting, no complex wiring; typically replaces stock bulb directly.

  • Includes rubber O-ring sealing for weather resistance.

  • Compatible with many vehicles; may require Canbus adapter for bulb error codes in some makes.

Certification Conforms to Hella manufacturing standards (fitment/regulations vary by region)
  • Fits vehicles that use H7 or H18 bulbs for low or high beam (check owner’s manual or current bulb).

  • Compatible with most projector and reflector headlamp housings — pay attention to available socket depth and dust cap clearance.

  • May require small rotation to align the emitter for correct cutoff (refer to installation notes).

  • Vehicles with CANBus bulb monitoring might require an error cancellor / load resistor (sold separately) to prevent warnings or flicker.

  1. Park vehicle on level ground, switch off engine and headlights; allow components to cool.

  2. Open bonnet and locate headlamp dust cover / access port behind the headlamp.

  3. Remove the dust cap and unplug the factory H7/H18 bulb connector.

  4. Twist and remove the old bulb from the lamp holder (follow vehicle manual).

  5. Fit the supplied O-ring and insert the Hella LED retrofit bulb into the holder. Align emitter orientation for correct cutoff (if needed).

  6. Connect the vehicle connector to the LED bulb. Ensure a secure connection and that wires are routed clear of hot/moving parts.

  7. Refit dust cap and test lights. Check beam pattern and adjust aim if necessary.

  8. If the vehicle reports a bulb error or flickering occurs, consider a CANBus adapter or anti-flicker module.

Estimated install time: 10–30 minutes per side, depending on vehicle access.

Q: Are these road legal?
A: Road legality depends on local laws and whether the retrofit maintains a permitted beam pattern in your housing. Many countries require purpose-built LED headlamps or E-marked retrofit kits. Check local regulations.

Q: Will these fit all H7 sockets?
A: They are designed for standard H7/H18 sockets, but physical space behind the lamp or dust cap design can vary — check your vehicle’s clearance.

Q: Do I need to replace both bulbs at once?
A: For even light and colour matching, we recommend replacing bulbs as a pair — this product is sold as a pair.

Q: Can I use them for DRL or fog lamps?
A: Use only in the lamp positions specified by the vehicle manufacturer. H7 is commonly used for low/high beam; H18 is sometimes used in fog or low beam — check fitment.

Q: My car shows a dashboard bulb warning after fitting — help?
A: Many modern cars monitor bulb load. A CANBus adapter or resistors may be required to eliminate warnings. Contact us with vehicle make/model/year and we’ll advise.
